It's all coming together now.

Over the course of the past, I don't know, year or so, I've been compiling a smilan dictionary. I'll share it soon. Smilan also has its own alphabet and syntax, though, so it's not so simple as letter substitution. Incidentally, though, "pibtab" literally translates to "sharp smell plant."

1) Maybe it is me staring half a day on code but the page seems kind of sharper than usual.
2) The first four panels sequence without words and with slight edits is something I am a bit jealous of :D

How much do you have of the language? Form what you have said it seems to be constructed language with grammar and all which is... wow. Kinda requires general understanding of language nuances.
Is it based on an existing one? Like Tolkien used Swedish + Latin, I think.

Thanks! I'm so glad to hear it! Actually, the panels are SLIGHTLY larger than usual since I cropped off a bit of the white border I usually leave in.

Smilan grammar is pretty simple; I've tried not to base it too heavily on any real languages, but like most Romance languages (excluding English), it is an inflected language. Each phoneme in the language has a distinct meaning, and so all modifiers of subjects, objects, verbs, are appended to the words as prefixes and suffixes. I know that sounds like a lot, but it's actually pretty simple. For instance, You might say, I'm going to run to the grocery store real quick" might look something like "Nipsmummon ummamb/tumsmoob," roughly translating to "fast-going me to store/foodplace": 1st person singular of "to go"+prefix meaning "fast", all in the subjective. The second word means "food place," but is an the objective.

TMI, I know...

Thanks! That is actually a good system to stay sane, haha.
Adding properties to base words. I like that.
Cool :D

Never TMI, I think it's absolutely sick when someone has this much invested in their work.
Very interesting.
Can't wait to see the dictionary.

LOL I love the turn this took!
A quick knot and he's secured!
Panel 5 is a LOL panel. I wonder how embarrassed this poor monster is.

I hope MS can get his arm back.
:-o

Ha yeah, that tarp is definitely going to hold him for, like, 5 seconds. Just long enough for an important story point to be put over. Handy, no?
